Chorfu Channel Case

ever heard about Chorfu Channel Case ?This case is a dispute between the Albanian and English that way through the court filing that the International Court of Justice in 1949. It happened on May 15, 1946 during the British ships sailed into the strait Chorfu Albanian territory. When entering the territorial sea Albania ships with cannons fired at the Albanian coast. Albania when it was in a state of war with Greece. Dated October 22, 1949 an English ship had struck a mine that was in straits which then caused loss of life. Top events England kemudain conducted a purge of existing mines in the strait without the permission of the Albanian government. Then disputes arose and submitted to the International Court of Justice. International court decision stated that Albania bertenggungjawab for damage Britain and British ships had violated the sovereignty of Albania because of his actions sweeping mines. This issue is actually not related to environmental problems directly. But in this case has applied a principle similar to Principle 21 Stockholm Declaration of 1972 which is in one of the decision states that each country is not allowed to take actions that interfere with or harm other countries.
